Removing a Head
To remove a head, the easiest way is the warm it up first, either with hot water (hold the dolls head in the water until it becomes soft) or with a blow-dryer (hold the blow-dryer at a safe distance, you don't want to burn the doll's hair). First case, if your doll is vintage (old) it's fairly easy, just wiggle and pull gently until the head comes off. If you feel it doesn't come off easy, warm it up again. Take my advice, it's better to warm it a few times than to have a necksplit as a result.

To put the head back, follow the steps again, 'warm and wiggle' GENTLY. If you have a newer doll, chances are the neck knob has hooks to keep the head from coming off. This will be a challenge at first, but is not impossible. Try to keep to fingers on the edge of the neck, closest to where it meets the head. Hold this firmly (don't squeeze, you might break the neck) to prevent the ball of the neck knob from popping out and breaking the neck. Again, gently wiggle and pull on one specific side, until one of the hooks pops out of the head. After that, wiggle the other hook out and you're done.

TIP: cut off the hooks after you got the head off, that way, you'll never run the risk of breaking Barbie's neck again.

Altering/resetting limbs

Hold the bodypart in freshly boiled water for about in. When the vinyl has gone soft,m you can bend and twist it to the desired shape.

The return the limbs back into their original position, just hold them in freshly boiled water again and wait untill they resume their shape.

To fixate the lims you can hold it under cold water. Make sure the result looks anatomically natural and don't flatten the limb by squeezing. For the prettiest and most natural bend of an arm or leg, squeeze around it with two fingers.

Good luck!
